Catrinas the expression of a Town Called Atlixco.

 

Catrinas in Atlixco ushered in the Day of the Dead season in Mexico, starting early and eliciting joy from the locals who eagerly embraced the vibrant celebrations.

Throughout the various states and regions of Mexico, diverse activities were organized. Both public and private spaces were adorned in preparation for the festivities, providing opportunities for people to revel in the rich tradition of  Day of the Dead across the country.

In Mexico City (CDMX), excitement escalated with a plethora of early activities. The government embellished the main plaza with striking catrinas and illuminations dedicated to honoring the celebration of the departed.

This initiative garnered immense success as people were captivated by the decorations, and anticipation continued to build with each passing day.

The parades featuring Catrinas and Day of the Dead celebrations were highly anticipated, and while all were noteworthy, the grandest spectacle unfolded on November 4.

In Puebla, particularly in the charming town of Atlixco, colossal catrinas adorned strategic locations, creating a captivating spectacle. These iconic figures were strategically placed around the town, enhancing the overall ambiance and offering numerous attractions for visitors to explore.

 

Inspired by national symbolism, some Catrinas depicted the legendary figures of Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, situated amidst fields of Cempasuchitl.

Meanwhile, Mexica warriors graced the streets, adding a historical and cultural dimension to the celebrations.

Admiring the Catrinas in Atlixco is an immersive outdoor experience that invites visitors to traverse the town. Beyond the visual delights, the festivities offer a chance to indulge in local cuisine, relish delectable ice creams, and explore the town’s reputation as a hub for cultivating and reproducing flowers.

 

Drawing visitors from various states, Atlixco is renowned as a destination where people can purchase flowers and then it goes to different corners of Mexico.
