Chignahuapan is one of the Pueblos Magicos near Mexico City and is not only about the traditions they have; it is about that they have to create Christmas shines every day.

Some traditions they have are: celebrating the day of death; near the town, it is a small lagoon, and in this place, they celebrate the festival of light and life with a show and with a representation like in ancient times.

Another celebration is for the main church, where the sculptures of a virgin Mary created cedar at 14 meters in height.

In this town, I can feel Christmas is on every corner. There are different types of spheres that you could find that can amaze you with the kind of forms and colors. Chignahuapan is one of the places to get spheres and different ones. The town had delivered to places like the Vatican and NYC when the time arrived.

Each workshop has a different style, and each one delivers a specific type of sphere that is unique and only you will find in a particular shop.

I had the opportunity to visit one workshop, “El Castillo de la Esfera http://www.elcastillodelaesfera.com.mx/,” one of the biggest and is taking the production of spheres to another level.

You can visit their factory and know each step of how they create spheres. You can arrive without an appointment or choose a specific date so you can reach many more so they can have more spheres toggle as gifts or as Christmas comes.

To see the process where the artist creates spheres, you can visit some workshops, and you can see the process because it takes considerable skill to make the ornaments they now create modern and elaborate spheres. Each workshop has its style; each year, they change the type to be contemporary with spheres for our Christmas tree.

Now that I know how they create each decoration, I appreciate each sphere more; these are not just an element to decorate. Spheres become more critical because of people’s skills to paint, give, and create something that will last years. They also create patterns for the year or the season, so workshops create different designs so they can fill the desires and joys for the Christmas season.

To come down or to approach the trees and see your gifts is a joy no one can take you away, but there on the tree were present the decorations, and one crucial element are the spheres that not only decorate the tree but the illusion.

These spheres also make it possible to light the hearts of thousands of people worldwide just by looking and hoping for a better year to come.

The town has more to offer, and I am talking only about the creation of spheres. Still, there are also other things like the Quiosco that is on the central plaza decorated with so much color and is a central spot to the people, so they reunited in this place and also from this point the people know they are in Chignahuapan.

There are a lot of things to do. If you got time, come and visit. You can call the thermal waters and stay in the hotel and have a relaxing time after you get your sphere and start planning how to decorate your tree or maybe to give your best spheres to your family and friends.

Christmas is one of my favorites season of the year. The holiday is good because I remember that each year when we get together as a family in December, we set our decorations for our tree.

For me, watching and knowing how people create the sphere is an appreciation for the skill because, without them, we would not have cut great spheres, and without that, the town would not have international recognition of what they create and share with the world.
